Natural Zircon's Overview:

Zircon is a very brilliant stone because of high refractive index.  It is also very hard making it perfect for use in jewelry.

Physical Properties:

Colour: Variety
Refractive Index: 1.69 – 1.94
Chemistry: Zirconium Silicate
Hardness: 6.8 - 7.5
Density: 4.65 – 4.75
Crystal Group: Tetragonal
Occurrence: Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, India, United States

Legend and Lore:

In the middle ages, Zircon was said to aid sleep, bring prosperity, and promote honour and wisdom in its owner.

The name probably comes from the Persian word zargun, which means "gold-coloured," although Zircon comes in a wide variety of colours. Natural Zircon is sometimes mistakenly associated with Cubic Zirconia, which is a synthetic Diamond substitute.

Titanium:

Titanium is named after mythological first sons of the earth.  Titanium is lightweight, corrosion resistant and very strong making it a superior material for a ring.  Titanium is many times stronger and more durable than most precious metals, which makes it an ideal material for engagement and wedding rings.  Our titanium rings are fabricated from the same material as used in jet engines, rocket casings, nuclear submarines and Ferrari hubcaps.

People with reactions to gold will have no reaction to titanium.  This is why titanium is commonly used for medical implants.
